Joanna Darby at Parliament House: Create to Advocate Art Competition

Artists were invited to ’speak up’ on behalf of those in poverty and ’speak out’ against injustice. Artworks that express a vision to end global poverty and reflect upon and speak out on achieving the Millennium Development Goals were submitted for preliminary judging. Joannas painting was selected and was exhibited alongside 50 other selected finalists at Parliament House, Canberra, for the month of October 2008. The exhibition was officially opened by Peter Garret on Tuesday, 14 October, 2008.
